The Millenniumswarte (also known as the Dr.-Erwin-Pröll-Warte) is located at the highest point of the Hirschenkogel at 1,340 metres. The wooden structure was built in 1999 with a total height of 30.5 metres and 155 steps. The viewing platform, from which on a fine day you can see the Semmering-Rax massif from Styria to the Vienna Basin and, on a clear day, as far as Burgenland, Lake Neusiedl and Hungary, is 25 metres above the ground. The view is breathtaking. In summer, the sunrise can be experienced particularly beautifully from the viewing platform. In the winter months, the viewing platform is closed and not accessible.
