The Semmering Hirschenkogel at 1,340 metres (summit) is an important sports and recreation area in Austria on the border between Lower Austria and Styria and is only about an hour away from Vienna and Graz. Its central location, good public transport connections and the outstanding range of activities on offer in Semmering make it an easily accessible and popular excursion destination in both winter and summer.
Summer at Semmering
In summer, the Semmering Hirschenkogel with its many activities offers a cool refuge in the midst of a marvellous natural landscape with breathtaking panoramic views. Challenging bike trails, varied climbing courses, adrenaline-fuelled mountain cart rides, action-packed free fall jumps and fun play equipment offer a wide range of activities during the summer months.
Winter on Semmering
Winter is all about skiing. Varied pistes, excellent snow conditions and delicious mountain hut specialities transform the days on the Semmering into unforgettable winter experiences. Special highlights are the 3 km long toboggan run and the unique night piste offer, where you can also whizz down the slopes at Semmering in the evening hours.
Liechtenstein House
The Liechtensteinhaus panorama restaurant at the summit of the Hirschenkogel at 1,340 metres is located in the immediate vicinity of the mountain station and offers a breathtaking view of the Viennese Alps. In summer, the large sun terrace is particularly inviting.
